Orchestra conductor of the Berliner Symphoniker and artistic director of the "Festival Internacional de Ushuaia" in Tierra del Fuego (Argentina) and “Orvieto-Ushuaia-Classica 2011” (Italy).
In 2010/2011 Jorge Uliarte was invited to a China-Tour with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Highlight of this tour was the NEW YEARS CONCERT in the overwhelming Gouangzhou-Opera-House in the South of China.
During the season 2007-2008 Jorge Uliarte was working intensely as conductor with the Berliner Symphoniker and at the same time was conducting the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
With both ensembles he realized a long tour through Europe and South America in concert halls like: Berliner Philharmonie, Teatro Coliseo-Buenos Aires, Teatro El Círculo-Rosario, international Film-Festival of Mar del Plata, Teatro Argentino de la Plata, etc. Overwhelming Open Air-Concerts for 40.000 spectators were the highlights with the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra in April 2007 and November 2008 at the “Obelisc” historial monument of the City of Buenos Aires.
Jorge Uliarte has realized an international career giving concerts at prestigious concert halls: Berliner Philharmonie, Teatro Colón-Buenos Aires, Auditorio de Santa Cecilia-Rome, Concertgebow-Amsterdam, Philarmonia Narodova-Warshaw, Federal Hall-New York, Legion of Honour Theatre-San Francisco/California, Tivoli Concert Hall Copenhagen, Mozarteum Salzburg, Bösendorfer Saal / Vienna, Rathaus-Vienna, etc.
He worked with several orchestras: Mozarteum Orchester/Salzburg, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Argentina, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra/California, Vienna Sinfonietta-Austria, Dvorak Symphony Orchestra-Prague, Europa Symphony Orchestra-Vienna, United Philharmonic-Vienna, Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba-Argentina, Orquesta Sinfónica de Salta-Argentina, Bucharest Philharmonic-Rumania, Orchestra du Chambre de Lausanne - Switzerland , KVZ Orchester-Zürich, Berliner Symphoniker, Moscow Symphony Orchestra and others.
He was frequently invited to festivals such as in Taormina, Sorrento, Spoleto, Salzburg , Amsterdam , Rome, Brussels , Skoevde (Sweden ), to the Festival Cervantino- Mexico, New York, etc.
His records were broadcasted in several radio and television stations in Europe and America such as: ORF-Radio and Television from Austria , Bayerischer Rundfunk-Munich/Germany, Radio Suisse Romande-Switzerland, RAI – Radio and television Rome/Italy, Film & Arts TV-Channel, ARTE TV-Channel, and many others.
Michael was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1983. His interest in music began at the age of seven when he started learning the piano, soon followed by cello lessons at the City of Belfast School of Music. A varied education took Michael from Belfast to Dublin, Cambridge and ultimately London where he is now based.
His performing career encompasses solo recital, concerto and chamber music appearances and he enjoys playing both core and contemporary repertoire. Michael McHale is one of the leading Irish pianists of his generation and enjoys a busy career as solo recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician performing throughout the UK and Ireland, Europe and the USA.
Michael graduated from Cambridge University with a double first-class honours degree in Music before completing postgraduate studies with distinction at the Royal Academy of Music. His teachers and mentors include John O’Conor, Reamonn Keary, Christopher Elton, Barry Douglas and Ronan O’Hora.
He won the 2004 Camerata Ireland Musician of the Year and the Brennan and Field Prizes at the 2006 AXA Dublin International Piano Competition prior to winning first prize and the audience prize at the Terence Judd/Hallé Award finals in 2009 (previous winners of the competition include Stephen Hough and Nikolai Lugansky).
Michael has given solo performances at the Vigadó Pesti, Budapest, Konzerthaus Berlin (live broadcast on Deutschlandradio Kultur) and the Tanglewood Festival as well as critically-acclaimed debut recitals in Washington DC, at the National Concert Hall, Dublin, the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester and the Wigmore Hall, London.
His concerto performances include four Mozart concerti with the Hallé Orchestra (including the Concerto for Two Pianos with Barry Douglas for BBC Radio 3), Beethoven and Schumann with the Ulster Orchestra, Gershwin with the Bournemouth Symphony, Franck and Rachmaninov with the RTE National Symphony and special performances of Mozart with the RTE Concert Orchestra and the London Mozart Players.
Regular chamber music partners include Sir James Galway, Michael Collins, Patricia Rozario, Ensemble Avalon and the Cappa Ensemble.
Being a child, he begins his music studies with the guitar Masters Prof. Victor Roman and Estela Gonzalez.
Strongly attracted by the Opera Gender, he studied lyrics singing with Master Ricardo Yost.
His academic formation continued in the UCA (Catholic University of Argentina) taking courses for Orchestral Direction and Composition, in both specialties. He studied there with Masters like G. Scarabino, G. Opitz, M. Lambertini and J. Viera.
Once he graduated, he continued taking classes for a master's degree in Orchestral Direction with Master Pedro I. Calderón.
In 2001, with the support of the Music University of the UCA, he founds the Camerata Exaudi, an ensemble consisting of 85 members, being general director of the ensemble since its creation.
As a Director, he has a repertoire from instrumental music to chamber vocal, symphonic genders, choir-symphonies, capella choir, opera and soloist concerts, directing very important national musicians in prestigious opera theatres.
He conducts the Choir of the Camerata Exaudi since 2002, consisting of 40 mixed voices, facing masterpieces of a diverse repertoire.
He has also directed many national and international choir ensembles, among them: Cantoria Lugano (Argentina), Choir of the UCA, Choir of the UCA Salta (Argentina), Schola Cantorum Coralina (Cuba), Choir Quadrivium of Valencia (Venezuela), the Symphonic Orchestra Choir of Lara (Venezuela), Virgo Female Vilnius Choir (Lithuania).
In the year 2003 and 2007 he was called to close the I and II. International Choral Festival, playing the Magnificat BWV 243 of J.S. Bach and the Requiem of Mozart with great international casts. By the end of 2003 and 2007 he was selected to conduct the musical direction of “Così fan tutte” of W.A. Mozart, and Let’s Make an opera of B. Britten in the Margartia Xirgù Theatre, with a prestigious soloist cast.
In 2004 and 2005 he wins the Fundación Antorchas Competition, getting a scholarship to profound his studies as an Orchestra Director. He was selected by Master Charles Dutoit as an active student of the master classes given together with the Academic Orchestra of the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires in 2005, the same year in which he also wins the National Competition of Banco Rio getting the awards him “Young Entrepreneur”. In July 2006, he obtains a mention at the national competition organized by Clarin newspaper and Ciudad Bank of Buenos Aires, that considers him as one of the most outstanding twelve youngest entrepreneurs of the country.
