USHUAIA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL – Tierra del Fuego – Patagonia, Argentina
The 6th edition of the Ushuaia International Festival will be taking place from April 2nd to April 17th, 2010.
The artistic level is once again superlative with the participation of the USHUAIA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA, with excellent musicians from Europe and South America, conducted by Maestro JORGE ULIARTE.
Totally, 15 concerts will be held in the wonderful concert hall of the „5-Star-Hotel Las Hayas“ www.lashayas.com, where 800 concert visitors may enjoy the wonderful concerts in the elegant hall „Salon Milenio“, which offers an overwhelming view to the southatlantic sea and the red coloured trees of Tierra del Fuego, during the concerts.
The USHUAIA-PHILHARMONIC will play the most beautiful symphonies of many famous composers, like Mozart, Brahms, Dvorak, Chopin, etc. Conductors of the concerts are Maestro Jorge Uliarte and Maestro Pablo Dzodan from Argentina.

Highly skilled soloists will participate at the Festival, like Katia Borissova (Mozarteum Salzburg), Goran Filipec (pianist from Croacia), Dario Volonte (tenor from Argentina), Vera Cirkovic (Mezzo-Soprano from France), Einar Stehen-Nokleberg (pianist from Norway), Virginia Luque (guitar, Spain), Valentin Surif (pianist from Argentina), etc.
Many chamber-music groups – like „Sphera Antiqva“ from Spain, the „Trio Interarte“ vom Sao Paolo/Brasil and music groups from Argentina will enchant the public with there beautiful concerts.
A wonderful highlight in 2010 will be the „Requiem of W.A. Mozart“. It will be performed with the CHOIR OF THE USHUAIA-FESTIVAL and the USHUAIA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA with 4 soloists from Italy.
A world premiere-piece will be conducted by Maestro Luca Garbini from Italy, who discovered in the Music University of Santa Cecilia in Rome a composition by GIOVANNI FRANCESCO ANERIO (1567-1630). This speciel concert will be realized in cooperation with the Vatican-State and the Government of Italy.
